Illinois Car Accident Devastates Several Families

May 15, 2012

A fatal car accident on May 13, in Chicago, has left six children motherless after four women riding in the same vehicle crashed into a support column.

The car accident occurred when the car smashed into a light pole after hitting a CTA pole west of Cicero Avenue. The impact tore the vehicle into two pieces. The driver was unable to stop the vehicle because of the high-speed that she was driving. 21-year-old Tyshyra Hines, 21-year-old Leshia Nelson, 25-year-old Bernadette Harris, and 22-year-old Alicia Goston were killed immediately upon impact. All four women were mothers of young children ranging from four to eight years of age.

The Chicago Police Department is currently investigating the accident to determine if the driver’s speeding was the cause of the accident. An accident reconstruction is in the works.
